“Engine Reborn”
Mazda, Toyota, and Subaru walk into a bar… Just kidding, but they did host the Multipathway Workshop to announce their joint “Engine Reborn” initiative.
The three big Japanese Automakers committed to developing new engines tailored to reach carbon neutrality with motors, batteries, and electric drive trains. Oh, and they’re trying to decarbonize ICEs by making them compatible with carbon-neutral fuels.

For Mazda, this goal of reaching carbon neutrality means further incorporation of rotary engines, which I can certainly get behind.
“Given the rotary engine’s compatibility with electrification and carbon-neutral fuels, Mazda will continue to develop the technology through co-creation and competition to ensure it can contribute broadly to society”
Hopefully this means that we’ll see that Rotary Sports car sooner rather than later! I mean, Mazda can’t tease us with an RX revival and expect us to forget, right?

The CX-70 : A Closer Look
You’re probably wondering “what is the difference between the CX-90 and the CX-70?”.
Us too.
That’s why Tommy from Classic Mazda took some extra time to highlight some of the unique features and differences in this social media series. Shea Holbrook from BSI Racing even stopped by. Take a look!
TLDR; The CX-70 offers everything you love about the CX-90, but in a sportier look with more cargo space.
Black Finish (instead of chrome)
New bumper
21-inch Alloy Wheels
New color options
Melting Copper Metallic (Mazda’s fancy way of saying Rose Gold)
Zircon Sand Metallic
Polymetal Gray Metallic
(It’s also worth mentioning that the Mazda CX-70 also earned a 2024 IIHS Top Safety Pick Award)
Connor Zilisch Joins MX-5 Cup Winners Circle
After near victories and podium finishes in this years series, Connor Zilisch finally joined the winners circle after his race one victory in Mid-Ohio.
After a battle of back-and-forth between Gresham Wagner and Jared Thomas, Zilisch also continued the streak of non-repeat race winners as the seventh different driver to win in the 2024 MX-5 Cup.
This is one of the only series that I’ve yet to win in this year. I really wanted to win coming into this weekend and it feels good to do it with my BSI Racing team.
Connor said it himself (with big shouts out to BSI Racing), the 2024 MX-5 Cup was one of the only series he had yet to see victory in. Let’s take a look at the other series the 17-years-young driver has won (not including all the podium finishes and qualifying records he’s broken):
Rolex 24 at Daytona
ARCA
at Dover
at Flat Rock
at Iowa Speedway
Cars Tour at Hickory
12 Hours of Sebring
Trans-Am TA2 at Sebring
MX-5 Cup at Mid-Ohio
The stats speak for themselves, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more victory headlines from Connor Zilisch across the different series. And who knows, maybe we’ll get to sponsor one of his future dubs! 👀
