Coaches who Move Us: Championing Everyday Community Mentors

Behind every young athlete who learns resilience, teamwork, and confidence, there is usually a dedicated coach volunteering early mornings, late evenings, and even weekends. Maybe you remember a specific coach who played an important role in your young life, or maybe you’re that coach right now!

Well, this one’s for you!

To celebrate these unsung community leaders, Mazda has teamed up with TeamSnap to launch "Coaches Who Move Us" as a nationwide initiative where Mazda plans to shine a spotlight on local youth coaches across the country.

Mazda will be providing grants and funding that goes directly to teams to cover everyday equipment, travel, and training costs. I wish we had that when I was in high school.

The goal is simple: ensure young athletes have the gear and guidance they need to discover the joy of movement and sports, regardless of budget.

2026 Mazda CX-90

To kick off the community program, Mazda plans on recognizing five wonderful coaches from across the country on Good Morning America, where each coach will be awarded a brand-new Mazda CX-90!

Plus, starting today through October 18th, families can nominate their favorite coach by visiting the Mazda nomination page.

And get this! Youth sports coaches can also receive a $250 car incentive when they purchase a new Mazda at their local dealership….oh hey, it just so happens that I know a local dealership that sells new Mazdas.

Maybe we should all go there today!

Mazda Partners with TREK Bicycle and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association!

Plenty of automakers try to sell the "rugged outdoor lifestyle" by slapping plastic black cladding onto a commuter crossover and filming a 30-second TV commercial next to a staged tent.

Mazda is taking a far more authentic route.

By officially joining forces with ‘Trek Bicycle’ and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), Mazda is directly inserting themselves into the mountain bike and gravel biking communities with real world applications.

And you know what? It makes total sense. Mazda engineers have always obsessed over the tactile connection between driver and vehicle (Jinba Ittai), otherwise known as the unity of horse and rider. That philosophy aligns seamlessly with cyclists who obsess over the exact same sensation: the geometry of their frame, tire pressure, and the feedback of their rig carrying speed over loose gravel.

Best of all, it’s not just marketing fluff. The Mazda CX-50 with standard AWD has legitimate chops as an adventure vehicle capable of hauling your bicycle which is how Mazda ended up as the Exclusive Automotive Partner of Trek’s Elite Off-Road Racing programs.

This means that we will see the CX-50 actively working as chase and support vehicles for the Trek-Unbroken XC and Downhill segments!

Plus beyond the Trek Pro ranks, the partnership with NICA invests straight into grassroots youth cycling.

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association organizes mountain biking leagues for thousands of student-athletes and volunteer coaches across the country!

I know reading that made me smile. Let’s get the kids out there having fun!

SunFlower Yellow Miata limited to Japan Only

Japan-Only MX-5 in ‘Sunflower Yellow’

Enthusiasts have spent the better part of a decade asking Mazda for one specific thing on the current ND-generation MX-5 Miata: a return to vibrant and fun body paint.

Mazda finally answered the call—with a major catch.

Say hello to the Mazda Roadster FSW Ver. 2, finished in iconic Sunflower Yellow. It is the first time an ND roadster has worn an official factory yellow since this generation debuted. But before you reach for your checkbook, you should know that this is literally RARER than a hypercar: Mazda is building exactly six examples, and all of them are staying in Japan.

Conceived by a collaboration of four Japanese regional dealership networks, the six donor vehicles won’t go down the standard assembly line. Instead, they are being individually hand-painted and finished by Mazda Engineering & Technology (Mazda E&T). That’s nerd speak for the elite Mazda division responsible for building concept cars and specialized track machinery, so no big deal.

Outfitted with a subtle aerodynamic body kit, dark contrasting wheels, and bespoke interior accents, ownership of the six roadsters will be decided via a lottery during the Mazda Fan Fest at Fuji Speedway.

I know, I know, why would I even bring it up if it’s not coming to the USA?

It’s a cool-looking car! What else do you want from me?
